If you like musicals and gays then you should check out Tom Gustafson’s film “Were the World Mine“. Maybe you saw his short film “Fairies”, well “Were the World Mine” is a full length and it’s now available on Netflix watch instantly. I think some positive feedback for that 24 minute movie encouraged Gustafson and Co. to go back and expand it to a full-length production. Basically, the movie follows the young Timothy – he’s a fag who lives in a homophobic world, gets cast in a play and through the power of Shakespeare learns how to turn everyone around him into gay lovers. His teacher helps him. The whole time I was wishing all my Shakespeare teachers helped me… and why didn’t I have any cute guys in any of my Shakespeare classes?? I was always surrounded by chubby girls. Yuck! Spoiler alert: within the first ten minutes of viewing the film I thought, “woah this is gayer than gay porn” but by the end I was thinking “where is the sex??” If the world were mine it’d probably be pretty gay but definitely not encapsulated in a love obsessed adolescent. I prefer mid to late twenty years old kids who are sex obsessed.
