These poems are from a year ago. They are dedicated to my favorite dominatrix Claire Adams. Two of these poems were published in the zine “TRY” based in San Francisco. If you want a paper copy of the full zine “Arias Calmed” send me a message.
Body moves through world
ghost has yet to come
inside the body is a sanctuary
every ghost wants a body.
I wait to one day be synergetic
with ghost I finally become myself.
Ghost looks eager to come inside
pale skin, soft blue eyes adorned with mascara
sharp as razor beams slice through beings

This video shows clips of Marc Arthur’s performance art event “The Key”. If your not familiar with Marc Arthur’s work I highly suggest checking out his website. And yes, that’s me enraptured in the begining.. screaming like a banshee influenced by a Maenead before True Blood made Maeneads “cool.”
Fans of Diamanda Galas, Nina Simone, Antony and the Johnsons need to make sure they’re aware of M. Lamar. I’ve been a fan of M. Lamar for a few years now and have watched Lamar evolve from a sex symbol to a deeply provocative singer songwriter. A few months ago he played a show at my old place in Oakland; Ariel Goldberg and Debutante shared the bill. His intricate grotesque lyrics and his Klaus Nomi esq delivery demands your time. His new album “The Black Death” has just been recorded; he has been kind enough to give us an interview and a few MP3′s to check out. Watch his website for future updates. Continue reading

Last Thursday night I had the privilege of seeing two bands I love play clear across town from each other and it only cost me $5.00!
Enough gloating about the joys of summer though, if you have been holed up in your small apartment for the past three years and don’t know who Yeasayer are, it’s really time you hike down to your local music store, or at least mosey on over to their myspace and give a few of their songs a listen. On Thursday, they played a free show at Pier 54 (no relation to the hallucinatory nightclub of NY’s past unfortunately) in south Chelsea on the Hudson, and I was reminded in full what made their debut so exciting three years ago.
CAFF/FLICK mini series returns with a double EP by Belfast’s newest surf sensations GIRLS NAMES; two pink C10 cassettes containing 4 super no-fi demos apiece. Formed in January 2009 as a last minute support act for a WAVVES gig, GNs unabashedly hark back to the early/mid eighties shadow world of Beat Happening, C86, Postcard Records and The Birthday Party, with some big dumb Dennis Wilson drums thrown in for good measure. There are only 25 of each home-dubbed tape, (priced £2.50 each/£4 for both) BUT all tapes come with a free code to download all eight tracks plus two bonus songs, so visit the STORE today and snap them up before they are gone!
Steve Sandberg has been making music professionally for years and years, however, he’s recently momentarily departed from the world Latin music to help re-inspire the New York Club World that he and his cohorts see as failing to lead the world of club music. He’s a twisted genius! If your a fan of zany tranny inspired lyrics and lots of grumbling/mumbling vocals then keep reading and check out the awesome downloads he sent us. Continue reading
